The Human Rights at Sea (HRAS) initiative has been independently developed for the benefit of the international community, including the maritime industry, for matters and issues concerning human rights in the maritime environment. It is complementary to existing national and international human rights work relating to the maritime environment, including fully supporting established seafarers organisations and their initiatives.
WISTA-UK was founded in 1974. It is part of Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA) – an international organisation for women in management positions involved in the maritime transportation business and related trades worldwide. WISTA pursues and supports the creation of both national and international business relationships amongst its members, who currently number over 1800 in 32 countries.
